Helen
Andrews-Smith is a professional therapist who has been practicing since
1982, and is currently working as an accredited health care provider and
instructor for Human, Equine, and Canine remedial therapy. Studies in
Human and Animal therapies, in relation to musculo-skeletal conditions
with continuing education and update seminars on a regular basis .
Helen has been involved with animals since childhood, especially horses,
dogs and domestic agricultural livestock. She has bred and raised dogs,
horses, cattle, meat goats, pigs and poultry for show and commercial
purposes. Helen is accredited with The International Institute for Complementary
Therapists (IICT).
A combination of (remedial, physical) techniques are used which Helen has developed from
various modalities and discoveries from experience with people and
animals. The techniques are not forceful & assist the body’s innate
ability to normalize and correct itself. Rehabilitation, injury
prevention and maintenance is addressed, this often necessitates working
with other professional, health care providers.
Courses are available in Australia and Internationally . The
Professional Diploma courses are delivered via external and face to face
tuition. Advanced Human Techniques and the Special Interest course is
delivered face to face. Special guest speakers on Equine issues are
present to co-lecture and demonstrate.
Your Australian Instructor Helen has extensive experience in training
and tuition. In addition to developing and teaching H.E.C Remedial
Therapy, Helen has lectured over the last twenty years by invitation on
Health and complementary therapy, Animal husbandry, Organic farm and
Animal management, Self help for Injury management and Rehabilitation,
at schools, hospitals, community Health groups, Clubs, Private
organization, Agricultural Field days, Small seminars At TAFE and CQU
(Central QLD University) Cairns and Brisbane Live stock and Food
producers expos as well as private tuition and training.
Quality Tuition and Training is available with accredited courses for
H.E.C Remedial Therapy. Diploma of H.E.C Equine Remedial Therapy -
Diploma of H.E.C Canine Remedial Therapy - or combined Diploma of H.E.C
Equine and Canine Remedial Therapy. Diploma courses are open to students
wishing to pursue a professional career with animals, or for existing
professionals who wish to acquire new skills and techniques to
complement what they already practice. Special Interest courses Equine
Massage & Stretching, Rider fitness & Balance are also available to
learn new skills to help yourself and your animals. The Special Interest
course H.E.C Human Advanced Techniques is available only to existing
professional practitioners of approved Human Body work. Certificate of
Attendance is issued for on-going education to improve clinical skills
and results.
Special Interest Courses: H.E.C Equine Massage & Stretching- Horse and
Rider Fitness & Balance. This course is open to all horse owners and
also equine professionals for continuing education. DVD - available to
